About Swaziland
- It has the highest infection rate of HIV/AIDS in the world.
- Approximately 10 percent to 15 percent of the population consists of children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
- One in ten households is headed by children.
- Alan Brody, the UNICEF representative in Swaziland, states, “We are in the midst of an unprecedented crisis affecting children and the whole society.The Swazi people desperately need support, and they need the support in the long run.”through the work being done by our partnership with Vredelust Church in South Africa, nearly 250 orphaned and vulnerable children have hope for a brighter future by attending the Global Community School. Not only do they receive a quality education, they also get meals 365 days a year. For many of the students, their meal at school is the only one they will have all day.
